Matric Upgrading/Second Chance Programme
The primary goal of this program is to provide assistance to individuals who may not have met the criteria for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or the amended Senior Certificate (SC), or those who did not achieve adequate marks to pursue their desired career path at a higher education institution.
- Anyone who wants to improve on their previous National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.
- Exams are written in May/June and October/November each year.
- Students are allowed to take a maximum of 6 subjects per year.
Matric Upgrade/Second Chance Programme is a valuable opportunity for individuals to improve their matric results, gain access to higher education and career opportunities, and potentially pursue their desired goals.
The amended Senior Certificate (SC) is primarily designed for adult learners aged 21 years and older, who did not write the National Senior Certificate (NSC). Or those that have completed Grade 9 - we offer intensive classes from February to May. During this period, these learners not only engage in their coursework but also take their exams in May/June, ensuring they are well-prepared and supported. It is recognized as equivalent to the NSC.
Similarly, National Senior Certificate (NSC) learners, who have taken Matric exams post 2008, participate in classes that run from February to October. They are scheduled to sit for their exams in October/November. Through these structured programs, we strive to create a robust learning environment that fosters academic excellence and empowers stundents to succeed in their educational journeys.
