Established in March 2014, the Limpopo Mathematics and Science Academy (LiMSA) is a non-profit organization trading as LiMSA Schools. We were founded to address the challenges faced by learners in Mathematics and Science.
We aim to enhance learners understanding and performance in these subjects by providing the necessary academic support and resources to help them succeed.
Through strategic partnerships with local schools and the Department of Education circuits, we connect directly with learners to support their mastery of these critical subjects.

Key features of our programs
Matric Updgrade/Second Chance Programme
The primary goal of this program is to provide assistance to learners who have not been able to meet the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or the extended Senior Certificate (SC).
- We provide in-person learning at both our branches - Mokopane & Polokwane.
- Allows rewriting up to six subjects.
- Provides resources like study guides & tutoring.
School Visits
We visit various schools, including those in deep rural areas, and as an academy, we have established strong, collaborative relationships with these schools.
During school visits, we offer supplementary tuition designed to enhance educational quality and boost learner performance. Students receive focused support in commercial subjects, sciences, and agricultural studies. This initiative promotes effective learning, personal development, and a broader understanding of these disciplines, empowering learners to achieve deeper insights and improved academic outcomes.
Summer and Winter Camps
Our camps take place during the school holidays in March, June, and September. During the camps, learners engage in evaluations designed to assess the impact and effectiveness of the lessons they have received.
- The camp welcomes learners from our academy and participants from other schools, fostering an inclusive, and collaborative environment.
- The camp content covers complex exam topics in line with the Annual Teaching Plan (ATP).
- We partner with higher education institutions to help guide learners on academic pathways, career options, and essential skills..
